Borough of Doylestown Human Relations Commission Monday, January 22, 2025 - 7pm Attendance: Fred Stanczak, Doreen Stratton, Freda Savana, John Fraser, Maxine Katz, Stephanie O'Mara, Student Member Thomas O'Reilly and Borough Manager John Davis. The Minutes of the December 2024 meeting were approved as submitted. Community Immigration Forum - Panelist Discussion, Fred reviewed the goals for the upcoming discussion forum. Each panelist will have two minutes to deliver a short presentation regarding their work in the immigration field. Questions will be accepted in writing and presented to the panelists for an open discussion on the immigrant experience in the community. Panelists attended the meeting to introduce themselves and discuss their work in the community. Lydia Windemann introduced herself as a volunteer at the Anne Silverman Health Clinic at Doylestown Hospital and a member of the League of Women Voters. She helps with the naturalization of immigrants and plans to share details of that process. Heidi Roux from Immigrant Rights Action provided background on what their organization provides, including legal rights education and representation. Kelly Hoffman, English Teacher and Reading Specialist at Council Rock North High School. She works closely with immigrant students and advocates for them and their families. Danny Thomas will be the moderator for the discussion, and asked each panelist to suggest several questions they'd like to be asked as well as be prepared to discuss the details of the immigrant population.
