Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, March 4, 2025 – 7:00 p.m.
Gary Harris, James Lannon, Doreen McVaugh, Bob Huether (via Zoom), Matthew Reece, and Caitlin Hernandez, Director
of Parks and Recreation, were present.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
The minutes from the February 4, 2025, meeting were approved as amended.
Caitlin gave the Stage United Update. May 1 and May 29 are tentative dates for performances. Joe’s sponsorship goal is
$15,000, and the Borough has contributed $5,000 to the event. Caitlin is looking forward to the events and is excited about
this event in the future. Borough resident Mary Kremser inquired about potential conflicts with surrounding
municipalities. Caitlin let her know we are only doing shows in May this year, and most of the neighboring communities
don’t start their concerts until June.
Caitlin shared the Arts and Crafts Update. She extended a conditional offer of employment to a candidate as the new
director of the program. Her name is Kate Gale. She is a teacher in Quakertown and lives in Buckingham.
Caitlin gave the Recreation Director's Report. Caitlin and Dave Burger are working on a schedule to consistently inspect
the safety of the play equipment despite DVT conducting annual inspections. Bocce is coming along despite the weather.
The Broad Commons restrooms are on track to be completed this spring. The Neis tennis court resurfacing is tentatively
scheduled for May. Scenic Strolls will begin on March 19, and yoga will return in the spring. Arts and crafts registration
will open on April 1, 2025. Egg hunt registration starts on March 22. Summer shows are scheduled, and sponsorships have
been secured. We will need to consider increasing sponsorship fees for the 2026 season. The council approved $15,000
for the Pump Track, and we still need to raise another $35,000. Liz Wykoff has some fundraising ideas and sponsorship
opportunities to work out.
James gave the Comp Plan Update. The public comment period will end on March 16, 2025, and it is scheduled to be
included on the agenda for adoption by the Borough Council on March 17, 2025. Gary applauded the efforts of everyone
involved in completing the plan.
Old/New Business Under the topic of Old Business, James spoke about board members donating to the Pump Track. Under
new business, he reminded the Board members of the upcoming Pancake Breakfast on March 15 at the firehouse.
Additionally, under the topic of new business, Ms. Kremser wanted to discuss the pump track and how people access it
from the parking lots. James and Caitlin answered her questions, specifically about the number of parking spaces.
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:27 pm.
