Park and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes Tuesday, May 6, 2025 – 7:00 p.m. James Lannon, Gary Harris, Doreen McVaugh, Bob Huether, and Caitlin Hernandez, Director of Parks and Recreation, were present. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes from the April 1, 2025, meeting were approved. Caitlin provided an Egg Hunt Recap. Due to some dogs' poor behavior, it was suggested that dogs not be allowed at the next egg hunt. Caitlin will devise a way to word it that won’t offend dog owners with children participating in the egg hunt. Caitlin gave the Recreation Director's Report. More progress has been made on the bocce court at Wood Street Park. Tennis court resurfacing is tentatively scheduled for later in May. The public restrooms at Broad Commons have been opened. The dugout roof and fencing upgrades at Maplewood Field One have been completed. The Burpee Park all- purpose and basketball courts will be resurfaced in the first week of June. Arts and Crafts is sold out. The first Concert at the Commons was a huge success, drawing hundreds of people to the park. Due to the crowd size, we are considering increasing the number of food and alcohol vendors for the next concert. After the next concert, a conversation about creating a summer series for 2026 may be in order. A fundraiser for the Pump Track, Pedal-Palooza, is scheduled for May 13. To date, approximately $35,000 has been raised for the Pump Track paving project, including the budgeted $15,000 provided by the Borough. We have also received a preliminary design for the Green Street/Pebble Hill trail and will work with the engineer to iron out the details. Old/New Business: Under New Business, Doreen shared an event that is coming up at the hospital. The Park and Rec Board has been invited to be an exhibitor at the event There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:33 pm.
