Park and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes Tuesday, April 7, 2026 – 7:00 p.m. James Lannon, Gary Harris, Bob Huether, Patrick McCauley, Karissa Elser, and Caitlin Hernandez, Director of Parks and Recreation, were present. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes from the March 3, 2026, meeting were approved as submitted. Free Little Library Proposal – Troop 2372 withdrew their proposal before the meeting began. Caitlin shared a program called PingPong Parkinson with the Board members. She shared the research on the program that helps Parkinson’s patients remain active. Caitlin spoke about the program's budgetary needs. Caitlin thinks it can start as a pilot program and, if well-received by the community, be expanded. The program will last approximately 1.5 hours per session. A motion was made to advance the proposal to the Environment and Recreation Committee. Caitlin gave an Egg Hunt Recap after the Park and Rec members shared their perspectives and feedback. Catilin gave the Recreation Director Report. Pavilion rentals are increasing year over year. Broken equipment at Burpee has been replaced. Bike racks have arrived, and we’re figuring out where we want to install them. The Flex Space is on track to be completed by May. Concerts in the Commons are scheduled for every Thursday in May. Arts and Crafts has opened to Borough residents. Scenic Strolls have continued to have a good number of participants. Old/New Business: Under the old business section, Caitlin shared that donations received at the Egg Hunt have helped to offset the cost of candy and prizes in the eggs. Under the new business section, Troop 52 shared their favorite playground equipment with the Board and offered suggestions for new features they would like to see in the town's parks.
