DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH PLANNING COMMISSION TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2023 MEETING MINUTES The regular meeting of the Doylestown Borough Planning Commission was held at Borough Hall at 7:30 PM on September 26, 2023. Members present were as follows: James Lannon, Chair Gus Perea Lynn Bush Heather Mahaley Andy Happ MaryAnn Baenninger Nick Caramenico Patricia West Karyn Hyland, Director of Building and Zoning CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by Mr. Lannon, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance in honor of Martin Corr. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The Commission voted to approve the September 12, 2023 minutes as submitted. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE: Mike and Lynn of the Bucks County Planning Commission reviewed details of the most recent breakout workshop meetings. Discussion groups focused on sustainability, historic preservation, parks and recreation and other topics. They were well-attended and productive. There is a lot of support for arts and culture in the community, although Mike does feel it could be a bit deemphasized in the planning process as it is not a land-use focus, and the Commission members agreed, although sharing its importance is key. Mike shared information and recommendations on each topic including economic vitality, land use, parking/ transportation, and bringing a Main Street management program back. The Commission had detailed discussions to pare down the workshop lists and suggestions and provide more direction. These discussions are planned to continue in October in order to give each topic enough focus. The Commission will review the breakout group notes and make notes and suggestions of their own in preparation for the next meeting. NEW / OLD BUSINESS: None. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the Commission adjourned at 9:40 PM. Respectfully submitted, Amy Kramer
