Members of the Commission in attendance were: Lisa Moscherosch, Baldev Lamba, Chris May, and Kayvon Tabatabai. Also in attendance were Borough Arborist Bob McMullin, Building & Zoning Director Karyn Hyland, Park and Recreation Director Dave Burger, and applicant Walt Blair. Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 6:31pm Approval of Minutes: The September minutes were approved by those in attendance (Tabatabai, Moscherosch) Subdivision/Land Development: 280 N. Broad Street, Arcadia at Doylestown3, LLC, Applicant. The shrub and tree options were reviewed. An amended list was provided and approved. (Baldev/Moscherosch) Tree Applications: 1. 11 Sandy Ridge Drive, Walt Blair, Property Owner. Approved with the recommendation to replace (Tabatabai, Moscherosch) 2. 173 Union Street, Zonda Lin, Property Owner Denied. (Tabatabai, Moscherosch) 3. 135 Meyers Drive, Joe Quinlan, Property Owner. Approved (Lamba, Moscherosch) 4. 825 N. Chubb Drive, Lyrea and Barry Hunsberger, Property Owners. Approved (Lamba, Moscherosch) 5. 93 Harvey Avenue, Beth Woodhead, Property Owner. Approved with the recommendation to replace. (Lamba, Moscherosch) 6. 31 Crestland Terrace, Bruce and Suzanne Jarose, Property Owners. Denied (Lamba, Moscherosch) Old/New Business: 1. Street Tree Planting Review. Dave Burger said that Public Works completed 86 plantings in total. Most recently 11 at Neis Park, 20 at Maplewood, 2 Memorial Trees. Reports: 1. Chairperson Report - None 2. Arborist’s Report - White scale canker on skip laurels is caused by an infestation of white prunicola scale, an armored scale insect that sucks plant sap and nutrients Public Comment: none Adjournment: There will be no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 7:33pm (Moscherosch/Lamba) Next Shade Tree Commission Meeting is Tuesday, November 12, 2024
