MINUTES CITY OF DRIPPING SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET ASSOCIATION REGULAR MEETING Tuesday, January 21, 2014 10:00 a.m City Hall 511 Mercer Street Dripping Springs, Texas This facility is wheelchair accessible and accessible parking spaces are available. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Marianne Simmons, Chair Gina Gillis Kambra Bolch Gouri Johannsen Sandy Pedrazas Aubrey Munguia Jo Ann Touchstone, Secretary Ralph Morren Marianne calls meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. All present except Aubrey Munguia and Gina Gillis. Also present Market Manager Carolyn Hodges. PRESENTATIONS BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit as necessary. No one speaks. II. MINUTES A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, October 8, 2013 B. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, November 12, 2013 C. Approval of Special Meeting Minutes, November 18, 2013 D. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, December 10, 2013 Kambra motions to approve with correction to Dec. 10th reflecting Gouri was present. Sandy seconds. Motion passes, 6-0. III. BUSINESS Discussion and Possible Action regarding: A. Review of December and January Markets - Holiday shopping slower than usual. Reviewed participating vendors for January markets. Slow, but steady. B. Review of 2013/2014 Market Applications - New vendors approved: Brenham Kitchens and Bijoux Belle by Michele. C. Amendments to 2013/2014 Rules and Regulations - Reviewed draft of mission statement. Jo Ann motions to direct subcommittee of Kambra, Gouri and Ralph to provide complete draft of mission statement and proposed changes to rules and regulations to Board at next meeting for final approval to release for 2014 season. Ralph seconds. Motion passes, 6-0. D. 2014 Season 1. Application 2. Fees 3. Season Dates Gina Gillis joins meeting. Board reviews application for completeness and consistency with proposed rules and regulations. Jo Ann will confirm with City Attorney to have complete draft for approval at next meeting. Kambra will draft a checklist for vendors to comply with safety rules and verify signature includes those of booth workers. Board discusses season start dates and vendor sign ups related to being a year round market rather than seasonal. Marianne motions to increase application (annual) fee to $40.00, renewable on an annual basis per vendor. Ralph seconds. Motion passes, 7-0.(Application fee will be good for one year from date paid.) Board will meet February 18th to finalize application and rules and regs to release for vendors to sign up for 2014. Application will then be revised each December and available January 1st thereafter for each year. Gina Gillis exits meeting. Kambra Bolch exits meeting.  E. Co-Sponsorship of Annual Tomato Festival - Marianne reviews notes from the committee meeting (on file). Jo Ann will post to agenda each month for updates and asks all to consider volunteering at the event. F. Site Layout and Parking – No action taken. IV. REPORTS – Update on Farmers Market Website Enhancements – Jo Ann reviews changes online. VI. ANNOUNCEMENTS A. Regular City Council Meeting, Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. B.
