June 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
A Regular Meeting of the Farmers Market Association Board was held Thursday, June 18, 2020 beginning
at 10:00 a.m. via Videoconference and in City Hall Conference Room No. 1 located at 511 Mercer Street,
Dripping Springs, Texas
I. VIDEOCONFERENCE MEETING
This meeting will be held via videoconference and the public is encouraged and welcome to
participate. Public comment may be given during the videoconference by joining the meeting using
the information below. Public comment for this meeting may also be submitted to the City Secretary
at acunningham@cityofdrippingsprings.com, no later than 9:00 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2020.
The Farmers Market Association Board respectfully requests that all microphones and webcams be
disabled unless you are a member of the Board. City staff, consultants and presenters please enable
your microphone and webcam when presenting to the Board.

II. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Board Members present were:
Gouri Johannsen, Chair
Marianne Simmons, Vice Chair

With a quorum of the Board present, Chair Johannsen called the meeting to order at 10:06 a.m.
III. PRESENTATION OF CITIZENS
A member of the public who desires to address the Board regarding any item on an agenda for an
open meeting may do so at presentation of citizens before an item or at a public hearing for an item
during the Board’s consideration of that item. Citizens wishing to discuss matters not contained within
the current agenda may do so, but only during the time allotted for presentation of citizens. Speakers
are allowed two (2) minutes to speak during presentation of citizens or during each public hearing.
Speakers may not cede or pool time. Members of the public requiring the assistance of a translator
will be given twice the amount of time as a member of the public who does not require the assistance
of a translator to address the Board. It is the request of the Board that members of the public wishing
to speak on item(s) on the agenda with a noticed Public Hearing hold their comments until the item(s)
are presented for consideration. Speakers are encouraged to sign in. Anyone may request a copy of
the City’s policy on presentation of citizens from the city secretary. By law no action may be taken
during Presentations of Citizens.
Janet Musgrove, Board Member Applicant, attended the meeting and introduced herself to the Board.
IV. MINUTES
A. Discuss and consider approval of the May 21, 2020 Farmers Market Association Board
regular meeting minutes.
A motion was made by Board Member Vincent to approve the May 21, 2020 Farmers
Market Association Board regular meeting minutes. Board Member Dahlin seconded the
motion which carried unanimously 6 to 0.
V. REPORTS
Reports are for discussion only. The Board may provide staff direction and no action will be taken.

C. Farmers Market May 2020 Income Statement
Gina Gillis, City Treasurer
Report not sent. Andrea Cunningham will request from City Treasurer and forward to
Board.
VI. MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS
A. Update regarding Ad Sales for the Farmers Market newsletter.
Laurel Robertson presented the item and will check for protocols to institute new ad
program.
A motion was made by Chair Johannsen to approve the newsletter banner ad program
starting at $25.00 per ad, with pricing adjusted to ad size and as space provides. Board
Member Dahlin seconded the motion which carried unanimously 6 to 0.
B. Update and discussion regarding the Special Events relating to the Tomato Time!
Event.
Maggie Martin presented the item. She is working on development for the event and
planning on the end of June for the event. The Hays Master Gardeners will be included in
the event.
VII. MARKET VENUE
A. Discuss and consider approval of New Vendor Applications.
Laurel Robertson presented the item. Documents related to Vendor Applications are on file.
1. Cabu Botanicals
A motion was made by Vice Chair Simmons to approve the New Vendor Application for
Cabu Botanicals. Board Member Dahlin seconded the motion which carried unanimously
6 to 0.
2. Herbal Root Collective
A motion was made by Board Member Vincent to approve the New Vendor Application for
Herbal Root Collective. Board Member Dahlin seconded the motion which carried
unanimously 6 to 0.

3. Lady Nomad
This application was previously approved. No action taken.
4. DeeDee’s Little Creations
A motion was made by Chair Johannsen to approve the New Vendor Application for
DeeDee’s Little Creations as part of her mother’s Vendor Application for Krazy Good Keto,
and a 10% (ten percent) discount to be applied to DeeDee’s Little Creations application fee.
Board Member Dahlin seconded the motion which carried unanimously 6 to 0.
B. Discussion and consider possible action regarding Market Memberships in USDA,
TDA, Go Texan, and FARFA.
This item was tabled to the next meeting.
VIII. OTHER BUSINESS
A. Discussion regarding Board Vacancies.
The Board discussed advertising for vacancies and directed staff to continue to post
vacancies in the Farmers Market Newsletter.
B. Discuss and consider possible action regarding the monthly Farmers Market
Association Board meeting day and time.
This item was tabled to the next meeting.

Declaration, and Center for Disease Control guidelines related to COVID-19, a quorum of this body
could not be gathered in one place, and this meeting will be conducted through videoconferencing.
