Founders Day Commission Meeting Minutes February 25, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. A Regular Meeting of the Founders Day Commission of Dripping Springs, Texas was held Monday, February 25, 2019 beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers located at City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas. I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Commission Members present were: Jake Adams, Vice Chair Stephanie Holtzendorf, Secretary Sharon Goss Michael Monaghan Brad Thomas Darrel Debish Brian Varnell Commission Members absent were: Brenda Medcalf, Chair Brian Daniel Chris Nuccio Paul Sanchez City Staff/Appointed Officials present were: Mariana Espinoza, Parks & Community Services Director With a quorum of the Commission present, Vice Chair Adams called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. II. MINUTES A. Discuss and Consider Approval of the Regular Meeting Minutes of February 11, 2019. Darrell made a motion to accept the minutes. Brad seconded. Minutes accepted. III. BUSINESS A. Update and discussion regarding the approved Professional Services Agreement between the City of Dripping Springs and Cathy B. Designs and regarding Graphic Design Services for the 2019 Founders Day event. • The logo will be a combination of the ones reviewed last meeting. • The banner “Now Accepting Sponsors” will be going up in the triangle this week and will be social media. IV. STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS The following updates relate to the administration of the 2019 Founders Day Festival. No action to be taken. Founders Day Commission February 25, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes Page 1 of 4 A. Traffic and Parking Darrell Debish and Brenda Medcalf • ROTC from DSHS will help with the parade this year. B. Security Darrell Debish and Brenda Medcalf • Viking Fence will provide the bike racks for the parade route and will go behind parade to pick them up. Will leave some for use during the event. • Security meeting is scheduled for March. C. Sanitation Paul Sanchez and Brian Daniel • No report D. Sponsorship and Underwriting Mariana Espinoza, Sharon Goss, Brenda Medcalf, Brian Daniel and Jake Adams • $10 – 11,000 received to date. • Locktite will not be doing the large donation this year. • Need incentives for sponsors. • Space next to stage available for sponsors. E. Publicity Bonnie Gonzalez • Video from last year has been posted on website. F. Arts & Crafts Michael Monaghan • 120 booths sold. G. Parade Brenda Medcalf and Stephanie Holtzendorf • 44 entries received. H. Entertainment Brad Thomas • Need parking passes for bands. • Contracts need to be to the City Council for the March 11th meeting. I. Site Plan Michael Monaghan and Brenda Medcalf Founders Day Commission February 25, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes Page 2 of 4 • DSO has agreed to let the Founders Day Commission use the parking lot for the Founders Day event. We will use original site plan. • Businesses at Veranda will be having a space in front of their business and cook spaces will need to be moved. • Ice will be sold again this year. • Mules for the FD Commission need to be ordered.
