MINUTES CITY OF DRIPPING SPRINGS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Thursday, February 21, 2013 Special Meeting City Hall, 511 Mercer Street Dripping Springs, Texas I. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Chairman Ted Lehr calls the meeting to order at 5:35 pm and takes roll call. Present: Commissioner Ted Lehr, Chair; Commissioner Kathryn Chandler; Commissioner Charlie Haydon; Commissioner John Holdridge; Commissioner John McIntosh, Vice Chair; and Commissioner Karl Seelbach. Absent: Commissioner Gwen Tao. Also Present is City Administrator Michelle Fischer. II. BUSINESS Discussion and Possible action regarding: A. City of Dripping Springs STP MM CAMPO Project CSJ: 0914-33-065: Mercer Street Pedestrian Improvement Project 1. Texas Historical Commission Comments-no discussion regarding this item. 2. Selection of Improvements, including Sidewalk, Traffic Controls and Safety Zones, Pedestrian Bridge, Lighting, Street Signs, Historic District Signs, Bicycle Racks- Commissioners discuss the possibility of adding additional lights to the project. Commissioners Lehr and Holdridge volunteer to meet with Philip Hoggatt at Carved Stone to explore district monument sign designs. 3. Project Timeline-no discussion on this item. B. Proposed Collaborative Agreement Between The Dripping Springs Community Foundation, Inc. and the City of Dripping Springs, Hays County, Texas Regarding the DS Downtown Revitalization Fund – Commissioner Tao makes a motion to not pursue the agreement with the Foundation and to move forward with the Commission’s own fundraising, seconded by Commission Chandler. Commissioners discuss that they could tell the Foundation what the Commission will raise funds for, and they can tell the Commission what they plan on doing. VOTE: all in favor. The motion is carried. C. Mercer Street Pedestrian Enhancements and Landscaping 1. Status of Transportation Enhancement Program Application-Ms. Fischer reports that the program award date has been pushed back to June or July from May. 2. Selection of Improvements, including Benches, Waste Receptacles, Potted Plants, Landscaping, Signage-no action taken on this item. 3. Publicity and Fundraising-Commissioners Chandler and Seelback volunteer to work on the fundraising plan. III. ANNOUNCEMENTS A. Regular City Council Meeting, March 5, 2013, 5:30 p.m. B. Regular Historic Preservation Commission Meeting, March 4, 2013, 5:30 p.m. IV. ADJOURN-Commissioner Haydon makes a motion to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Holdridge. VOTE: all in favor. The motion is carried and the meeting is adjourned at 6:28 pm.
