MINUTES CITY OF DRIPPING SPRINGS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Thursday, March 4, 2013 Regular Meeting City Hall, 511 Mercer Street Dripping Springs, Texas I. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Chairman Ted Lehr calls the meeting to order at 5:30 pm and takes toll call. Present: Commissioner Ted Lehr – Chair; Commissioner Kathryn Chandler; Commissioner Charlie Haydon; Commissioner John Holdridge; Commissioner John McIntosh-Vice Chair; Commissioner Karl Seelbach; and Commissioner Gwen Tao. Also present is City Administrator Michelle Fischer. II. BUSINESS Discussion and Possible action regarding: A. City of Dripping Springs STP MM CAMPO Project CSJ: 0914-33-065: Mercer Street Pedestrian Improvement Project 1. Selection/Design of Historic District Signs-Commissioners review sketches of proposed monument signs submitted by Philip Hoggatt of Carved Stone. They direct City Staff to have Keenan Smith work with Philip on the designs. 2. Selection/Design of Lighting-Commissioners review lighting pole and fixture options. 3. Selection/Design of Bicycle Racks-Commissioners review bicycle rack options. 4. Selection/Design of Pedestrian Bridge Railing and Improvements-Ms. Fischer reports that she and the consultants have not been able to find many options for the railing and are still looking for them. 5. Selection/Design of Street Signs-Ms. Fischer reports that the engineers plan on using the existing street signs and is some new one are selected, they can be installed through a change order or by the City directly later on. 6. Selection/Design of Traffic Controls-no discussion. 7. Selection/Design of Sidewalk-Ms. Fischer reports that Brent Luck is working on specifications for the bump out sections of the sidewalk that uses flagstones. 8. Construction Plans-Commissioners review the latest draft of the construction plans. 9. Easements-Commissioners review the latest draft of the needed easement areas. 10. Project Timeline-Ms. Fischer gives an overview of the project timeline. B. Mercer Street Improvement Project: Pedestrian Enhancements and Landscaping 1. Selection of Improvements, including Benches, Waste Receptacles, Potted Plants, Landscaping, Signage 2. Buffer Wall and Kiosk 3. Publicity and Fundraising 4. Special Events Commissioners review the cost estimates for the improvements and discuss which ones would be good items for fundraising. Commissioner Chandler gives an update on her fundraising plans. III. ANNOUNCEMENTS A. Regular City Council Meeting, March 5, 2013, 5:30 p.m. B. Regular Historic Preservation Commission Meeting, April 1, 2013, 5:30 p.m. IV.
