MINUTES CITY OF DRIPPING SPRINGS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION February 3,2014 Regular Meeting City Hall, 511 Mercer Street Dripping Springs, Texas I. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Chairman Ted Lehr calls the meeting to order at 5:38 pm and takes troll call. Present: Commissioner Ted Lehr - Chair; Commissioner Kathryn Chandler; Commissioner Charlie Haydon; Commissioner John Holdridge; Commissioner Karl Seelbach; and Commissioner Linda Freeman. Absent: Commissioner John Mclntosh-Vice Chair. Also present is City Administrator Michelle Fischer. H. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS-none. HI. CONSENT Discussion and Possible action regarding: A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, January 6, 2013-Commissioner Seelbach makes a motion to approve the minutes with the correction of the spelling of his name, seconded by Commissioner Chandler. VOTE: all in favor. The motion is carried. B. Approval of Special Meeting Minutes, January 14,2014-no minutes because there was no quorum for the meeting. IV. BUSINESS Discussion and Possible action regarding: A. Proposal Regarding Real Estate and Economic Development Opportunities for the Stephenson Building and Adjacent Property Owned by the City of Dripping Springs, located at 101 Old Fitzhugh Rd.-A presentation is given on the proposal by Mr. Doug Launius. Commissioner Freeman makes a motion to recommend that the City and the developer continue to explore the proposal with the continual contact of Keenan Smith and the Historic Preservation Commission; the proposal has continuity with the Historic District; the Commission enthusiastically supports the concept; and the City works to plan integrating outdoor public space in the development or adjacent property. The motion is seconded by Commissioner Chandler. VOTE: all in favor. The motion is carried. B. Mercer Street Community Giving Tree 1. Fundraising-Ms. Fischer gives a report on fundraising to date. 2. Distribution of Posters and Brochures-Commissioners discuss places to distribute posters and brochures. 3. Construction-no update. Commissioner Freeman makes a motion that the Commissioners should purchase a leaf in the future for the Commission, seconded by Commissioner Lehr. VOTE: all in favor. The motion is carried. C. Participation in Founders Day Festival-Commissioner Lehr gives a report on the request from the Founders Day Festival Commission for volunteers at 5:00 am on Saturday morning and other volunteering needs. D. Mercer Street Improvement Project Phase 2-no discussion and no action taken. 1. Pedestrian Enliancements & Landscaping 2. Cost Estimates 3. Fundraising 4. Special Events 5. Publicity E. Update on City of Dripping Springs STP MM CAMPO Project CSJ: 0914-33-065: Mercer Street Pedestrian Improvement Project (Phase 1)-Ms. Fischer reports on the construction. No action taken. V. ANNOUNCEMENTS A. Regular City Council Meeting, February 11, 2014, 5:30 p.m. B. Regular Historic Preservation Commission Meeting, March 3, 2014, 5:30 p.m. VI. ADJOURN-Commissioner Seelbach makes a motion to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Lehr. VOTE: all in favor. The motion is carried and the meeting is adjourned at 7:02 pm.
