Historic Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes
A regular meeting of the City of Dripping Springs Historic Preservation Commission was held Monday,
December 7, 2015, beginning at 7:00 PM in the City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas.
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
COMMISSION:
Ted Lehr - Chair Kristi Graham John Holdridge
Karl Seelbach - Vice Chair Charlie Haydon Kathryn Chandler
Melissa Oehler
STAFF:
Michelle Fischer, City Administrator
Kerri Craig, City Secretary
Keenan Smith, Exterior Design, Architectural & Land Planning Consultant
Commission Chair Ted Lehr calls the meeting to order at 7:04pm. All present except Commission
Vice Chair Karl Seelbach.
II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS
Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak
shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit on each
citizen wishing to speak. No one speaks.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
Discussion and possible action regarding:
A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, November 2, 2015
B. Approval of Special Meeting Minutes, November 16, 2015
Commissioner Charles Haydon motions to approve the minutes. Commissioner Kristi Graham
seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes.
IV. BUSINESS
Discussion and possible action regarding:
A. Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Exterior Alterations and Signage at Trio
Fitness, Located at 101 Creek Road, Mardee and Bruce Calkins, Applicant
1. Presentation – Bruce Calkins, Applicant
2. Staff Report – Consultant Keenan Smith, report on file. Staff recommends approval.
3. Public Hearing – No one speaks
4. Certificate of Appropriateness – Commissioner Charles Haydon motions to approve the
Certificate of Appropriateness. Commissioner Kathryn Chandler seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in
favor, motion passes.

B. Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Door Replacement, Repainting and
Signage at Hill Country Guitars, Located at 302 Mercer Street, Dwain Cornelius, Applicant
1. Presentation – Dwain Cornelius, Applicant
2. Staff Report – Staff Consultant Keenan Smith, report on file. Staff recommends approval
with the conditions stated in the report.
3. Public Hearing – No one speaks
4. Certificate of Appropriateness – Commissioner Kathryn Chandler motions to discuss.
Commissioner Kristi Graham seconds. Commission discusses the various options being
considered for the door replacement. Commissioner Kathryn Chandler motions to
approvethe signage and option three from the staff report for the Certificate of
Appropriateness in concept, according to staff’s recommendation. Commissioner Kristi
Graham seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes.
C. Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for a Change in Exterior Paint Colors at 301
Old Fitzhugh Road, Bonnie Prescott, Applicant
1. Presentation - None
2. Staff Report - Consultant Keenan Smith, report on file. Staff recommends approval.
3. Public Hearing – No one speaks
4. Certificate of Appropriateness - Commissioner Charles Haydon motions to approve the
Certificate of Appropriateness. Commissioner Melissa Oehler seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in favor,
motion passes.

B. Regular Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting, December 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

VI. ADJOURN - Commissioner Kathryn Chandler motions to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner
John Holdridge seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes. Meeting adjourns at 8:18pm.
