MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Chair Robbie Zamora calls the meeting to order at 6:15 pm and takes roll call.
Present: Commissioner Robbie Zamora, Chair(DSYSA); Commissioner Robert
Hayden(CODS); Commissioner Rich Moore(DSISD); and Commissioner Eric
Henline(DSISD). Absent: Commissioner Eric Russell, Vice Chair(DSYSA);
Commissioner Shelly Reeves(DSISD); and Commissioner Britt Figueroa(CODS).
Also present and Melody Mitchell and Brent Luck.
II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS-Representatives ofthe Dripping Springs
Running Club inform the Commission that they would like to donate funds for
running trail improvements. They state that they are interested in improvements to
the south side ofthe Sports & Recreation Park by the softball fields. This property
may be private property. They are also interested in repairing the trail where it has
washed out. The club would like information on costs and what the Commission
would like them to do. Commissioners tell them that the trail repairs are in the
budget and will be bod out soon. They ask them to contact City Administrator
Michelle Fischer and get her recommendation on how the club can assist the city.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
Discussion and Possible Action Regarding:
A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, February 10,2014-Commissioner
Thao makes a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Commissioner
Hayden. VOTE: all in favor. The motion is carried.
IV. BUSINESS
Discussion and Possible Action Regarding:
A. Request from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2933 and American Legion
Post 290 to install two flag poles at Veterans Memorial Park,Shorty Burnett,
Commander, VFWPost 293-Commissioner Moore makes a motion to approve
the request, seconded by Commissioner Henline. VOTE: all in favor. The
motion is carried.
B. Proposal for Eagle Scout Project to Construct Picnic Area and Picnic Tables
in Charro Ranch Park,Luke Hoff, Boy Scout Troop 555-Luke gives a
presentation on his proposed project(on file). Luke asks ifthere is a record of
the color of stain used on the other Eagle Scout projects in the park so that he can
match them. Ms. Fischer states that she will review the project records for the
stain color. Commissioner Hayden reports that the Charro Ranch Park
Committee recommends approval ofthe project and will work with Luke on it.
Commissioner Moore makes a motion to approve the proposal and authorize the
use offiinds budgeted for Charro Ranch Park to assist with the material expenses
for two tables and eight benches, seconded by Commissioner Henline. VOTE:
all in favor. The motion is carried.
C. Update of City of Dripping Springs Master Parks,Recreation and Open
Space Plan
1. Presentation by Brent Luck, Luck Design Team-Mr. Luck reviews the draft
plan with Commission. No action taken.
D. Update on Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance(RTCA)Program of
the National Park Service-Melody Mitchell gives an update on the assistance
and the creation of an advisory committee. No Action taken.
V. REPORTS

Parks & Recreation Program. No Action to be Taken:
