1. ROLL CALL
A Regular Meeting of Dundee Parks and Recreation Commission was held on Mar 14
2024 at the Village Conference Room. The meeting was called to order at 6:33pm by
Chairman Hoickey
Present were Peter Kepler, Daniel Zachary Laberdee, Doug Steinman, George
Wilkins, Richard Arecheja, and Andrea Hickey. Jennifer Hernandez and Thomas
Miller were absent. Rich Arecheja was late.
Also present was 1 interested citizen.

3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Doug Steinman moved, seconded by Daniel Zachary Laberdee, Motion to
approve the agenda as printed.
RESULT: Carried

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
4.a Regular Meeting:February 8, 2024
Vice Chair Peter Kepler moved, seconded by Village Trustee George
Wilkins, Motion to approve the Minutes of the Date Meeting as printed.
RESULT: Carried

7.a Partnership with the Monroe County Great Start Collaborative - Jennifer Hay
Jennifer Hay from Great Start explained what her organization does and ways

that we could partner together on upcoming events. There was no opposition
to co-hosting future events with Great Start from the Commission.
7.b Policy on Volunteer Hours
The Commission discussed the need to create a policy to require volunteer
hours for members of DPR. 4-6 hours or possibly 20-25 hours per year were
discussed. Doug, Andrea nd Peter will work on the policy.
7.c Parks and Rec Appointments
The Commission had a long discussion about the opening left by the action of
Council to not reappoiunt Tony Ellison. Aside from 1 member of DPR,
everyone agreed that it was unfortunate that he was not reappointed stating
the amount of hours Tony had put into volunteering on behalf of DPR and the
programming that he helped bring to the community.
7.d Soccer Update
Record numbers of participants have registered this year. The schedule will be
out soon, and the Commission will need to find volunteers to assist on game
days. The season will run April 13-May 19. U6 will again be played on
Sundays.
7.e Parks and Rec Master Plan Update
Mannik Smith Group will begin the process of helping woth the parks master
plan. It is anticipated that this process will start soon as it needs to be finalized
by Dec 2024 and will be assisted by Lucie Fortin.
