ROLL CALL A Regular Meeting of Dundee Village Parks & Recreation Commission was held on January 9, 2025 at the Village Office Conference Room The meeting was called to order at 6:31 pm by Vice President Lechlak. Present were: Jacob Lechlak, George Wilkins, Rich Arecheja, Doug Steinman, Peter Kepler was running late. Also present were, and 1 interested citizen. 2. CALL TO ORDER Meeting of the Dundee Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order at: 6:31 pm 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 4.a Regular Meeting: December 19, 2024 5. CITIZEN’S COMMENTS Discussion/Suggestions on Scout Building Project Phase II 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 7. NEW BUSINESS 7.a Develop Calendar of Events  Sports  Music in the Park  New Events A tentative schedule of Events for 2025 was developed, dates are all approximate at this time.  January 13, 2025, Spring Soccer Registration Begins Page 3 of 5 Agenda Item #4.A Page 2 of 3 Draft  February - None  March - None  April 7, 2025 Spring Soccer Registration Closes o 12, 2025 Spring Soccer Opening Day o 20, 2025 U6 Soccer Start  May 16, 2025 Fishing Club Registration Begins o 17, 2025 Spring Soccer Ends o 18, 2025 U6 Soccer Ends o 28, 2025 First Fishing Club Outing, then Every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of Month  June 20, 2025 1st Movie in the Park  July 25, 2025 Movie in the Park o 27 - August 2, 2025 Monroe County Fair  August 15, 2025 Movie in the Park  September 3, 2025 Last Fishing Club Outing  Late August - September Fall Soccer Ends, (will schedule end of May)  October ~4, 2025 Pumpkin Palooza (Approximate Date holder)  October ??, 2025 Dundee Days New Event Suggestions to discuss at future meetings:  Christmas Market to be held in conjunction with Christmas Parade and tree lighting. Market would include all downtown businesses. 7.b Discussion to request use of Scoreboard at DHS for showing of movies for 2025 season. How to involve different booster clubs to co-sponsor our movies and run concession stand. George will discuss with Kim, School Board Member and then request meet with Superintendent Scott Leach 7.c Discuss how to involve coordination of events with other Village Commissions, DABA, DDA, Old Mill, etc. Share th load for all and have more events for community to attend. George Wilkins and Tim Bordine, Council President, will attend DDA Breakfast Meeting and discuss Parks & Recreation coordination of events suggestion. P&R would like to avoid possible conflicting events and keep all commissions and events informed of each others events as they develop. 7.d Council Liaison position to Parks & Recreation Commission is expiring February 28, 2025. Discuss whether George is interested in another term or if Council wishes to appoint another Council Member to replace his position. George Wilkins would like to continue as our Liaison to Council for Parks & Recreation and will submit required form to Council to do so for another year. CITIZEN COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS Tim Bordine complimented Parks & Rec on our meetings running orderly and efficiently. 9. COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS None 10.
