WORKSESSION
o The agenda has been made available for public inspection. Mayor Bauman and
Council members have been provided a copy of the agenda in advance of this
meeting.
o Public comment regarding agenda items.
o Reports from department heads.
o Council and Mayor comments.
MEETING
• Pledge to the flag.
• Mayoral Proclamation Presentations:
o Honoring Gina Altieri and Janet Russo of My Sister’s Kitchen.
o Honoring Mr. Thomas Kokinda on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
• An attendance roll call will now be taken by the Manager.
• With a quorum present, the meeting will continue.
• Council met in executive session this evening to discuss legal matters and personnel of
the Administration Department.
• Please be advised that this public meeting was advertised in the Times Leader in the
legal section. A copy of the legal ad is attached.
• All minutes, correspondence, bills, and reports are available for inspection.
Motion:
• to accept the minutes as posted.
• that all correspondence be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on
file.
• that all bills, wages, salaries, and commissions be paid when funds are available.
• to approve payment of bills that were paid after the previous meeting, but before
approval of bills for the current meeting.
• that all reports be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file.
• to appoint the following part-time police officers for the month of February 2023, as
necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety of the public:
o Officers- Giles Wall

• to approve Resolution 2023-1, which sets the Contribution Rate of 0% for the Police
Pension Fund.
• to approve Resolution 2023-2, which authorizes an agreement between Duryea
Borough and Pittston City to continue with the Home Investment Partnerships
Program (Home Rehab).
• to approve Resolution 2023-3 to appoint Therese Wrubel as the Tax Collector for the
remainder of Martin Hanczyc’s term, expiring December 31, 2025.
• to release Bruce Moluski from his 2022 tax duplicate and authorize Therese Wrubel to
collect the 2023 Property Tax.
• to approve that FNCB be named as the Depository for Duryea Borough Tax Collection.
• to hire _______________________ as the full-time Borough Secretary, starting at $17
per hour.
• to appoint Danny Nicheporchek as the representative for the Wyoming Valley Sewer
Authority.
• to place an additional handicap placard in front of 222 Dickson Street for additional
resident.
