DURYEA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING February 14, 2023 Swearing in of Therese Wrubel as the 2023 Duryea Borough Tax Collector. WORKSESSION o The agenda has been made available for public inspection. Mayor Bauman and Council members have been provided a copy of the agenda in advance of this meeting. o Public comment regarding agenda items. o Reports from department heads. o Council and Mayor comments. MEETING • Pledge to the flag. • An attendance roll call will now be taken by the Manager. • With a quorum present, the meeting will continue. • Council met in executive session this evening to discuss legal and personnel matters of the Fire Department. • Please be advised that this public meeting was advertised in the Times Leader in the legal section. A copy of the legal ad is attached. • All minutes, correspondence, bills, and reports are available for inspection. • Discussion regarding paving with 2023 Liquid Fuels funds. Motion: • to accept the minutes as posted. • that all correspondence be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • that all bills, wages, salaries, and commissions be paid when funds are available. • to approve payment of bills that were paid after the previous meeting, but before approval of bills for the current meeting. • that all reports be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • to appoint the following part-time police officers for the month of March 2023, as necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety of the public: o Officers- Giles Wall • to amend the minutes from the March 8, 2022, meeting to reflect that Bruce Moluski was sworn in and to correct the votes by council members. 1  • to hire Jennifer Anderson as a part-time police officer for the Duryea Borough, to be called as needed, provided she successfully pass the full background check process and all other Borough and M.P.O.E.T.C requirements for newly hired police officers. Officer will be subject to the six-month probationary period for part time officers. • to place an additional handicap placard in front of 222 Dickson Street for additional handicap parking space. Approved by all departments. • to approve Resolution 2023-4, which approves additional municipalities to be added to the North East Pennsylvania Land Bank Authority. • to amend and correct Resolution 2023-3, appointing Therese Wrubel as the Tax Collector for the Borough of Duryea until the first Monday in January 2024.
