DURYEA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING January 9, 2024 WORKSESSION o The agenda has been made available for public inspection. Council members have been provided with a copy of the agenda in advance of this meeting. o Public comment regarding agenda items. o Reports from department heads. o Council and Mayor comments. MEETING • Pledge to the flag. • An attendance roll call will now be taken by the Manager. • With a quorum present, the meeting will continue. • Council met in executive session this evening to discuss personnel matters of the street department and legal matters pertaining to land acquisition. • Please be advised that this public meeting was advertised in the Times Leader in the legal section. A copy of the legal ad is attached. • All minutes, correspondence, bills, and reports are available for inspection. Motion: • to accept the minutes as posted. • that all correspondence be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • that all bills, wages, salaries, and commissions be paid when funds are available. • to approve payment of bills that were paid after the previous meeting, but before approval of bills for the current meeting. • that all reports be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. • to appoint the following part-time police officers for the month of February 2024, as necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety of the public: Officers- Giles Wall • to authorize a temporary handicap sign to be placed in front of 312 Church Street (approved by all departments). • to approve seasonal employee, Jeff Hughes at the CDL rate of pay with the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement ($22.50/hour). • to approve per diem employee, Mike Wall at $_____ per hour (most recently at $20 per hour). 1  • to release Therese Wrubel from her 2023 tax duplicate and authorize Anissa Akulonis to collect the 2024 property tax. • to approve Resolution 2024-1, which sets the Contribution Rate of 0% for the Police Pension Fund.
