DURYEA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING January 13, 2026 Swearing in of Edward Ameika as a member of the Civil Service Commission. WORKSESSION o The agenda has been made available for public inspection. MEETING • Pledge to the flag. • An attendance roll call will now be taken by the Manager. • With a quorum present, the meeting will continue. • Council met in executive session this evening to discuss personnel matters of the Street Department. • Please be advised that this public meeting was advertised in the legal section of the Times Leader, which is attached. • All minutes, correspondence, bills, and reports are available for inspection. • Reports from department heads. • Council and Mayor comments. Old Business • Kokinda Drive • Parking Ordinance New Business • Roadway cracks 600 block of New Street • Resolution to accept the transfer of a liquor license from another municipality Meeting Motion: 1. that all correspondence be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. 2. that all bills, wages, salaries, and commissions be paid when funds are available. 3. to approve payment of bills that were paid after the last meeting, but before approval of bills for this meeting. 4. that all reports be accepted, action be taken where necessary and placed on file. 1  5. to appoint the following part-time police officers for the month of February 2026, as necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety of the public: Giles – Wall – Anderson 6. to authorize the engineer to put the Borough Roof project out to bid, utilizing Statewide LSA funds. Reading of the furnace bids for the American Legion Upgrade project, utilizing County LSA funds. 7. to award the furnace portion of the American Legion Upgrade utilizing County LSA funds to 8. to approve the Emergency Action Plan updated by Keith Moss, Emergency Management Coordinator. 9. to approve Resolution 2026-1 which sets the Contribution Rate of 0% for the Police Pension Fund. 10. to approve Resolution 2026-2 which appoints the representatives of the Greater Pittston Regional Compost Commission. 11. to appoint _______________________ to collect the 2026 Duryea Borough Property, County and School Taxes, term to expire January 1, 2028.
