CITY OF DUVALL CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES September 17, 2018 – 5:00 p.m. Duvall Visitor Center – 15619 Main Street NE Mayor Pro Tem Eyer called the meeting to order at 5:09 p.m. Council present: Matthew Eyer, Michelle Hogg, Dianne Brudnicki, Jason Walker, Jennifer Knaplund, Amy McHenry (absent: Mike Remington) Staff present: Lara Thomas, Lindsey Vaughn, Jodi Wycoff I. Budget Revenues 1. 2018 Revenues To-Date and Anticipated Year-End Lindsey Vaughn, Finance Director, gave a presentation to show year-to-date revenues and estimated year-end revenues for 2018 for all funds. Ms. Vaughn and Lara Thomas, Deputy City Administrator, answered questions from Council. 2. 2019/2020 Revenue Projections Lindsey Vaughn, Finance Director, gave a presentation to show projected revenues for all funds for 2019/2020. Ms. Vaughn and Lara Thomas, Deputy City Administrator, explained that the estimates are still being revised as additional and new information is provided. Ms. Vaughn and Ms. Thomas answered questions from Council. 3. Future Revenue Options Lindsey Vaughn, Finance Director, reviewed potential revenue options including, but not limited to, a 1% property tax, funding the Transportation Benefit District, Business & Occupation tax, and Hotel/Motel tax. Ms. Vaughn and Lara Thomas, Deputy City Administrator, answered questions from Council. Council requested staff provide additional information on what the potential revenue could be from each of the discussed items. II.
