The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, November 14, 2022 at 7:04
PM.Those present were Mayor Ray Carroll, Alderpersons Bob Moore, Marty Graves, Jennifer Hughey,Tom
MIkkelsen, Michael Barron, and Fred Ivle. The City Attorney was present.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey,seconded by Bob Moore to approve the minutes of the October 24, 2022 regular
meeting. Motion carried with all ayes.
Mayor's Report
Mayor Carroll thanked everyone who participated in the trunk or treat as well as everyone who turned out for the
wrestling event at the Dyer Fire Department on Saturday night.
Mayor Carroll said that the Christmas Party, scheduled for December 9 back in June, conflicted with a pre-existing
date that can't be changed for wrestling at the Fire Department. The party has been moved to Friday, December
16.
Department Reports
Street Supervisor Dale Carroll said at Parker Electric Is coming to see about a drop line for the Eagle Community
Center. Also, a stove and fridge can be purchased for less than $1,300.00. Mayor Carroll commended the street
department for their work at the Eagle Community Center.
The City Recorder encouraged everyone to keep spreading the word about tax relief.
Committee Reports
Street Supervisor Dale Carroll said the water had been turned off and the bathrooms locked at the park. Also, the
light switch for the tennis courts has been damaged;the new electric contractor on North Main is going to look at
a replacement.
New Business
Motion made by Bob Moore,seconded by Jennifer Hughey to adopt Resolution 2022-330, A Resolution Authorizing
the Sale of Real Property to Gibson County Habitat for Humanity. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Marty Graves, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve up to $2,500.00 for the purchase of Fireade foam
from NAFECO. Motion carried with ail ayes.
Motion made by Tom MIkkelsen,seconded by Jennifer Hughey to approve the updated Facility Use Policy which
includes revisions for the Eagle Community Center. Motion carried with Moore, Graves, Hughey, and MIkkelsen
voting aye; Fred Ivie abstained; Michael Barren voted no.
Motion made by Marty Graves,seconded by Fred Ivie to cancel the November 24, 2022 regular meeting. Motion
carried with ail ayes.
Dyer Fire Chief Brandon Rudd notified the Board that the City has received a grant from the Division of Forestry
that will provide wildfire suppression equipment to the Dyer Fire Department.
Alderman ivie said that he had noticed an increased amount of vandalism on speed signs. Chief Lindsey said they
had interviewed several individuals and were continuing to investigate the vandalism as well as what they believe
are other connected events.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Tom MIkkelsen to pay the accounts. Motion carried with all ayes.
