MINUTES Village of East Troy Airport Advisory Committee December 11, 2017 1. Call to order – Meeting called to order at 7:00pm by Ann Zess 2. Roll Call ‐ Present –Ann Zess, Walter Watkins, Airport Manager/FBO, Don Voland, Sam Taber, Mike Starck Absent: Jim Stemper Also Present: Dale Graves, Matt Rybarczyk, Kim Weckerly 3. Citizen Participation – None 4. October 9, 2017 Minutes approved on a motion by Don Voland, and seconded by Sam Taber, motion carried. 5. Old Business: a. Emergency Procedures at 57C – Table until committee reviews Village Airport Ordinance. Walter will email a pdf copy of the ordinance to committee members b. Runway/Taxiway lighting update – Scheduled for 2018. Andrew Trimble of the Bureau of Aeronautics was informed of the Village budget approval for this project. The rotating beacon has failed and is a critical piece of equipment for pilots to find the airport. The beacon has been in service for over 20 years. A replacement was quoted at $4,000 with the high density beacon $6,000. The high density beacon has longer lasting bulbs that last 6 years. Motion by Committee member Mike Starck, and seconded by Don Voland to recommend to the Village Board the replacement of the Beacon with L‐802A with the airport committee being willing to raise the extra $2,000 to upgrade to the high density beacon. Motion carried. 6. New Business: a. YTD Rev/Expense report through November – The Committee members reviewed the detail of revenue and expenses for the year to date. No questions. b. Update on Hangar owner water / drainage issues – The issue is still being fixed. c. Other airport projects update – North gate repair company had to do some extra work to make the gate work correctly. They have to complete the stabilization of the gate into the guide so it does not blow in the wind. d. Future South Hangar expansion drainage discussion – The Committee would like to review the early proposal for the new South Side Expansion project drainage plan that is on the Airport Layout Plan as a future project.
