Meeting called to order @ 7:00 PM
Roll Call: Board Members: Mike Starck, JD Schreib, Kim Weckerly, Walter Watkins, Matt
Johnson
new board appointee Ruben Burgos (r.e.burgosjr@gmail.com - 414-391-1688) was
introduced. Ten hangar owner Citizen Participants attended as well.
: Minutes of last meeting: - no discussion, voted for approval.
Citizen Participation - Sam Taber illustrated the airport's value above and beyond economic
benefits, but also as part of NPIAS (National Plan of Integrated Airport System administered by the
FAA) in uses for military and civilian training and availability for medical emergency transport and
evacuation. Colleen Weber outlined a runway number painting event that resulted in sizable breast
cancer elimination donations.
Old Business:
Matt Johnson provided an update of Airport Budget Analysis, and recent Village Board
resolution not to proceed with effort to market the airport for sale at this time, and the
removal of the realty listing by Anderson Commercial Realty.
Hangar land Leases were discussed, with a consensus to make an effort at standardizing the
large variety of per square foot lease rates and varying terms.
The proposed economic impact study will move ahead with the intent of demonstrating the
direct and indirect economic benefits to the Village.
Kim Weckerly’s survey of hangar site waiting list results will provide guidance in the layout of
the new hangar area and mix of sizes that will be needed.
Walter Watkins - detailed an emergency landing event at 57C by a PA46 and how that was
coordinated with the FAA air traffic control, aviators on the ground, and the pilot of the
disabled aircraft.
Walter asked everyone to review artwork and the staked out location of new airport sign near flag at
main entry.
New Business to address next month:
continued efforts to realize hangar expansion plans and ALP (airport layout plan update).
