Village of East Troy Airport Advisory Committee MINUTES Meeting held at 2085 HWY L - FBO September 14, 2020 7 p.m. @ 57C FBO-outdoors FACE COVERING REQUIRED FOR IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE Meeting began at 7:02 PM Roll Call: Board Members: Mike Starck, JD Schreib, Kim Weckerly, Walter Watkins, Matt Johnson Citizen Participants: Craig Henry, Mrs. Kim Weckerly, Ken Kannard, Bill Trombley, Matt Rybarczyk, Justin Rohrer, Jim Rohrer, Jeff Point, Roger Kiefer, and several unnamed others Minutes of last meeting: - were voted to be approved as written. Citizen Participation - Sam Taber recounted the revelation from a client, that the Village of East Troy had listed the airport for sale with Anderson Commercial Realty, and stated he was shown a copy of that listing, followed by an emotional discussion by all present. Scott Seeger arrived to explain that this resulted from an effort by the Village Board to find capital partners, and a mistaken listing by Anderson Realty. Craig Henry offered that "We hangar owners are the Village's partners in the airport, having made substantial capital investments, and will work with the Village to maximizing it's economic impact for the benefit of all". Old Business: Matt Johnson described results of his Airport Budget Analysis showing an annual airport net cash flow deficit of $2000 to $3000, not taking into account any overall direct and indirect economic impact. Further studies will include a review of current Hangar land leases and possible changes, and a proposed official economic impact study. Walter Watkins renewed his appeal to pilots using the pilot activated lighting receiver, to provide feedback on receiver sensitivity settings. Kim Weckerly’s survey of hangar site waiting list will be available next meeting. New Business Roger Kiefer reviewed details of paraglider/hang glider operations on grass runway, and no difficulties were noted.
