MINUTES VILLAGE OF EAST TROY AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE March 10, 2025 Page 1 of 2 Call Meeting to Order Roll Call: Chairperson Holm called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: Jim Holm, Doug Gauger, JD Schreib, Mike Starck, and Kim Weckerly Excused: None Absent: Sean Plastine Others: Dale Graves, Dave Hedgecock, Sam Taber, and Sharon Taber Citizen Participation Per Village Resolution 2017-01, anyone wishing to address the Airport Advisory Committee during Citizen Participation will be allowed 5 minutes. Your subject must specifically relate to matters under the jurisdiction of the Airport Advisory Committee, whether on the agenda or not. The Airport Advisory Committee should not engage in a discussion regarding comments because it was not part of the publicly noticed agenda. Upon conclusion of this Citizen Participation segment, members of the audience are not allowed further comment unless they are participating in a public hearing or if specifically allowed by a majority vote of the Airport Advisory Committee due to involvement in an agenda item. Approval of Minutes  A motion to approve the January 13, 2025 meeting minutes was made by JD Schreib and seconded by Kim Weckerly. The motion passed unanimously. Standing and Old Business 1. Airport Manager’s Report • This time of year, fuel sales are seasonally slow. Last month, 375 gallons of Jet A and 2,000 gallons of AvGas were sold. • The guide wheel on the north gate had fallen off and was subsequently repaired. • Doug has ordered new row signs for along the taxiway. • The State installed low-flying plane signs on HWY 20, and Doug has ordered new signs for HWY L. • A sensor wire problem for fuel tanks caused a lost signal. Doug plans to pull new sensor wire after the frost is out of the ground. • After securing a contractor and pricing, the FBO exterior will be painted, and a new door installed. • The AWAS radio in the FBO was moved, and the interior painting was completed. Doug will soon install a computer for the pilots. 2. Airport Covenants Update No update. The committee has requested a break before tackling the airport covenants. 3. Snow Removal Equipment Update Per Jason Equitz, the SRE (snow removal equipment) is out to bid with a bid opening scheduled for March 27th. 4. Airport Layout Plan, Master Plan, and Planning Advisory Committee The Planning Advisory Commitee’s open house went well. The consensus is that the Master Plan is on track. Mike Starck offered sugges�ons and agreed to submit them in wri�ng to Jim Holm and Doug Gauger to share them with the Planning Advisory Commitee. New Business 1. Air Troy Estates Airport Airspace/Traffic Pattern Relative to 57C Sam Tabor and Doug Gauger shared their concerns about pilot awareness of the Air Troy Estates Airport. Several items were discussed to increase awareness, including tacking a short segment to the AWAS message and posting a notice inside the FBO. The Committee members were encouraged to consider the appropriate language for the AWAS message and FBO notice. This topic will be added to the old business for the April meeting. Adjourn:  A motion to adjourn was made by Mike Starck and seconded by Kim Weckerly. The motion passed unanimously at 6:50 PM. Next Meeting: 4/14/2025 at 6:00 PM at the FBO.
