Easthampton Board of Health Meeting Minutes September 20, 2022 50 Payson Ave., Easthampton, MA 01027 PRESENT: Maggie Hebert (MH), Aimee Petrosky (AP), Beth Rist (BR), Bri Dupras (BD), Health Director, Brian Chapdelaine (BC). Also, Present: Josh Suchoza (JS), Matt Stec (MS), Rachael Nalewanski Meeting held remotely by Google Meet. Motions A motion to open the meeting at 5:30 PM was made by MH and seconded by BR. All in favor – 3, Opposed – 0. Vote was taken by roll call. Public Speak: None • Josh Suchoza, Owner of Black Labyrinth Tattoo Syndicate, variance request to begin Matt Stec as a 2nd year Body Art Apprentice: BD reviewed with the BOH the Body Art Regulations that allow a second apprentice once the first apprentice has finished a full year. JS has an apprentice (Angela Mancini) still in their first year. According to JS, Matt Stec was an apprentice since January 2021 in Springfield; however, Springfield does not have apprentice regulations so the apprenticeship was unofficial and no apprentice permit was received. Matt Stec received his full license in February 2022 from the City of Springfield. Springfield does not have apprentice regulations so the only official documentation of experience was from his full license that was issued in February of 2022 (~7 months). A motion to grant a variance to allow Josh Suchoza to train two apprentices at one time (Angela Mancini and Matthew Stec) with the following conditions 1) A letter from Matthew Stec’s previous place of employment in Springfield confirming his employment has been uninterrupted since February 2022 (based on the current Body Art permit submitted). 2) Upon receipt of the above-referenced letter, the Board of Health has approved seven months of credited experience towards Matthew Stec’s apprenticeship period. 3) If Angela Mancini or Matthew Stec ends their apprenticeship-training period early and /or resign from your establishment, this variance will be void, was made by BR and seconded by AP. (See letter dated 9/22/22 from BD). All in favor – 3, Opposed – 0. Vote taken by roll call. ● Update from Health Director: BD discussed the upcoming vaccine clinics. October 15, 2022, a drive thru flu clinic would be held at the Easthampton Fire Station and then on October 25, 2022, a Covid booster clinic would be held at Mountain View School. ● Items not reasonably anticipated by the chair 48 hours in advance of the Board meeting: None A motion to close the meeting at 5:58 PM was made by AP and seconded by BR.
