Appointments Committee Meeting In-person meeting at 50 Payson Ave., 2nd floor Small Conference Room Meeting Minutes: August 31,2023 Councilor Riley called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members Present: Chair Councilor Riley, Councilor Gomez , Councilor Meunier, Councilor Denham Also in Attendance: David Jaffe, Caroline Anderson Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez to approve the minutes of April 13 and May 11, 2023 Vote was 3-0 Motion made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez to approve the minutes of June 15, 2023 Vote was 2-0-1 Public Speak Time: No members of the public present to speak. New Business: ● Mayoral Appointment: Name Board/Committee Term Expiration David Jaffe / BEES Committee / Dec. 31, 2025 David Jaffe is currently serving at the Manhan rail trail committee Easthampton resident since 2006 , David has a master in social work , he is working as a clinical social worker, David stated to the committee that he is always being interested in environmental biodiverse , he believes in being proactive instead of being reactive about the environment .Councilor Riley and David talked about the importance of the BEES committee in Easthampton and the region . Motion made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez votes was 3-0 on favor Carolyn Anderson Parks & Recreation Commission Dec. 31, 2023 Councilor Riley explained that this appointment expired on Dec 31 2023 because one of the members of the park and rec resigned and Carolyn is appointed to be on that committee and she will finish that term. Carolyn raises 5 kids and Carolyn spends a lot of her time with the kids at nonotuck park. She wants to bring new ideas to the board , Carolyn is a member of the dog park committee . Motion made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez votes was 3-0 on favor Louise Jacob Commission on Disability Dec. 31, 2024- sent to the full council with no recommendation. Steve Collicelli Easthampton Cultural Council Sept. 6, 2026 Felicia Jadczak Easthampton Cultural Council Sept. 6, 2026 Tracey Eller Easthampton Cultural Council Sept. 6, 2026 Councilor Riley stated to the committee that he communicated with these 3 appointees and they understanded the role of the ECC and that they should be appointed to the ECC. Motion made by Councilor Meunier seconded by Councilor Gomez votes was 3-0 on favor Next regular meeting: September 14,2023 A motion to adjourned was made by Councilor Meunier and seconded by Councilor Gomez unanimously voted that this meeting adjourn.
