Minutes City Council Finance Committee Meeting 2/14/2024 Attendees: Finance committee members: Councilor Tom Peake, Chair Councilor Koni Denham Councilor Jason “JT” Tirrell Other attendees: Jamie Webb – Town Planner Meeting was called to order at 5:30pm 1) Approval of minutes, motion made by councilor Denham and seconded by councilor Tirrell, motion passes 3-0. 2) Mayor’s communication – none 3) Public Speak – none 4) New business a) CPA Supplemental Appropriation: $100,000 for Town Lodging House predevelopment activities to support & create affordable housing. Town Planner Webb described process in which the property at 75 Oliver Street would be tested in order to determine the viability of the property. Specifically the 2 ½ buildable acres of property where currently the old lodging house, carriage house and a third remaining foundation sit. The total lot is 56 acres, however, only the 2 ½ are buildable. Although prompted by an affordable housing potential project, planner Webb made it clear that this was just a testing phase and was not a commitment to necessarily build affordable housing units. In order for anything to be done with this property, this initial testing phase must happen first. Motion made by councilor Denham and seconded by councilor Tirrell, motion passes 3-0. 5) Old business b) Quarterly fiscal reports from the city auditor: tabled as the committee awaits further information from city auditor. c) Charter required review of salaries for elected officials and appointed committees: tabled as the committee is awaiting more information  regarding surrounding towns/cities salary information for comparison reasons. Motion to adjourn made by councilor Tirrell and seconded by councilor Denham, motion passes 3-0.
