City Council - Property Committee

Property Committee Meeting Minutes February 5, 2021 Councilor Zaret called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. Approval of Minutes: Motion (Councilor Zaret) to approve Minutes from 1-14-21. Second (Councilor Flood) 2-0 motion passes Members Present: Committee Chair - Councilor Owen Zaret, Councilor Erica Flood, Councilor Kwiecinski (5:42 pm) Also in Attendance: J. McCarthy (Eversource Rep) Public Speak Time: No comments from the public. Continuing Business: No continuing business New Business: Proposed pole location at 324 Main Street for the purposes of providing a location for a new recloser. This will improve reliability and cut down on maintenance of the system as well as rerouting of power in city. Reduces span of outages and reduces maintenance time needed to repair when incidents happen. (As described by J. McCarthy) Councilor Zaret asked if there are any safety concerns we should be aware of? Poles require additional grounding – the pole will include this. No added safety concerns. Cross arm at top of poll is slightly wider (10ft). Distribution of reclosers throughout the city determined by Eversource’s engineers. Motion (Councilor Flood) to grant permission to install one jointly owned midspan Main Street pole along Main Street, beginning approximately 183’ feet northeasterly of the intersection with South Street. Second (Councilor Zaret) 2-0 motion passes. Passes again in re-vote (see below) 3-0. Councilor Kwiecinski asked about line of sight from the south street intersection – no concerns exist as there are 2 other poles in this location and it is a good distance away from the intersection. Motion to re-vote (Councilor Zaret), Second (Councilor Kwiecinski). passes 3-0 Housing Production Plan: discussion on preparation for report to full council meeting. Addressing addition of action items and public input processes. Motion to Adjourn (Councilor Flood), Second (Councilor Kwiecinski). 3-0 passes.
