Public Safety Committee Minutes June 7, 2022 Members present: Councilor Zaret, Councilor Riley Members absent: Councilor Derby Also in Attendance: Chief Norris, Councilor Gomez, Eric Fielder Meeting called to order by Councilor Zaret at 6:01 pm 1. Public Speak Time: Eric Fielder: Park St. traffic / speeding. Evening times seem to be worse. Increased pedestrian and bicycle traffic due to Mountain View School. Requests to enforce the speed limit. 2. Approval of the May 3, 2022, meeting notes: Councilor Riley made a motion to approve, Councilor Zaret seconded, Vote: 2-0 Approved. 3. Quarterly Report: Fire Department Chief Norris gave his quarterly report on the Fire Department. Updates included Personnel, Budget & Grants, Ongoing Actions, Future Initiatives, and a review of fiscal year end statistics through June 7, 2022. Chief Norris fielded questions from the committee. 4. Continuing Business: A. Ordinance Review Committee’s final report review  The Ordinance Review Committee’s final report will be sent out to committee members. Members will come to July 12th’s meeting prepared to ask questions and act on items in the report. B. Review of the use of electric speed monitoring signs  The Committee will have vendors at the July 12th meeting to discuss what role the signs could have in Easthampton. Next regular meeting: July 12, 2022, at 6:00 pm. Councilor Riley made a motion to adjourn, and Councilor Gomez seconded. Vote: 3-0 Approved. Meeting adjourned at 6:52 pm.
