Public Safety Committee Minutes Date 04/13/23 Members present: Owen Zaret, Dave Meunier, Salem Derby Members absent: None Also in Attendance: Councilor Gomez Meeting called to order by Councilor Zaret at 6:30 pm 1. Public Speak Time: None 2. Approval of the meeting minutes: Councilor Derby made a motion to approve the minutes from the meeting April 4th, Councilor Zaret seconded. Aproved 2-0 Discussion, Regarding officially designating the are of MT. View school. It needs to be recognized officially as a school zone for the DPW to use the grants to make it safer. It will include the driveways to the school. It was mentioned that we need to work on the language, the times of day it will be 20mph. Possibly have a public hearing regarding this issue may 17th. Councilor Meunier made a motion to move this to the full council and councilor Derby seconded, approved 3-0. No future meeting date at this time. Councilor Derby made motion to adjourn, Councilor Meunier seconded. Meeting adjourned at 6:43pm. Respectfully Submitted, Councilman David Meunier Clerk to the Public Safety Committee

Old/Continuing/Ongoing Business: a) Request to review safety of the South St./Main St. sidewalk & also review of a 4-way traffic light at the Main St. & South Street intersection b) Ordinance Review Committee’s final report review c) Review of the use of electric speed monitoring signs d) New City “Quick Actions” e) Mt. Tom Trailhead on East Street – safety items (amend Traffic Rules & Orders to add a no parking area on East Street). 6. Next Meeting: TBD
