ECA – Public Art Subcommittee Wednesday January 20th, 2021 Meeting Minutes 5:00 Public Speak - N/A Approval of December 16th minutes – Jamie motioned, Marcia seconded and all in approval. Donation Policy has not been circulated to City Dept’s as far as we know. Pasqualina will speak with Mayor and send email to committee once it has been circulated. Fender Bender Plaque - a mock up of plaque was shown to committee. Pasqualina will prop on base to confirm the actual size needed. Also she will ask Porcupine Sign & Design about best method of attaching to pad. Union Street redesign project – group reviewed suggested placement of sculpture pads outside of One Cottage Street. Pasqualina and/or Jamie will confirm that the circle symbols on the drawing do in fact indicate Red Maple trees. The third location at High Street was determined to be not feasible. The three locations for the ECA map will be determined at a later date. Discussion with Michael Poole – After refurbishing the 01027-bike rack he requested to reinstall with plates and bolts instead of the imbedded method currently used. Pasqualina will research why the imbedded process was used originally and what if any deterrents there might be. The depth of the cement in that location was discussed as the possible reason. She will ask Michael Poole if using a sleeve method might work. Mass DOT Winter Shared Streets Grant – process on schedule for notification the first week of February. Two bike racks commissioned from Michael Poole at $2500.ea to be located near City Hall parking lot. Committee will meet if needed to decide best locations.
