Easthampton City Arts Public Art Subcommittee

Meeting Minutes ECA - Public Art Subcommittee Wednesday January 4, 2023 5:00 Public Speak – Marcia welcomed the committee to attend a fundraising event in the Blue Room at City Space on March 15th where the Valley Jazz Voices will perform. Approval of December 7th meeting minutes – Tracie motioned for approval, Jamie seconded, and all agreed. RFP – Pasqualina reported that the six applicants were all contacted, two were spoken with, three have scheduled follow-ups and one was left a message. The updated RFP will be released Monday, January 16th. The updated RFP will emphasis that proposals should have a strong emphasis of the spirit of volunteerism and connection of the Eastampton community. A list of Public Art RFP Marketing and Outreach contacts was distributed. The committee was asked to send contact info for any other institutions and organizations not included. Jamie volunteered to convert doc into a spread sheet. DPW is removing the Union St bike rack. Pasqualina will talk with Dan Murphy to clarify who is painting them and what prep work will be done beforehand. Depending on outcome of that conversation Bob agreed to have the prep work and/or the paint work completed on his own. 01027 bike rack at City Hall - A newly designed entry way at 50 Payson will be finished in spring of 2023. The 01027 (green) bike rack on Williston will be moved to that location. What the remaining concrete pad will be used for will be discussed at a future meeting. Possibilities were briefly discussed. The 01027 bike rack on Main St will be removed and replaced with a 01027 (purple) bike rack to coordinate with the City’s way finding map. The old 01027 green bike rack’s future use will be discussed at the next meeting.
