Call to Order Minutes Erie Historic Preservation Advisory Board March 27, 2017 Participating: Jackie Connor, Chair; Dave Snow, Co-chair; Mark Mavrogianes, Secretary; Mike Katyryniuk, Dave Lotton, Sarah Wise and Scott Charles, BOT Liaison. , Sherri Barksdale was excused. This meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Jackie Connor. Agenda was approved. Minutes for February 27 were approved. Community member Phillip Bradbury was present and made inquiries about the potential to landmark historic properties at Baxter Farm 11367 Erie Parkway. We encouraged Mr. Bradbury to prepare a Landmarking application for consideration of the EHPAB. An application for landmarking the Sheldon/Allen Farm at 4684 N119th ST was reviewed. The Board unanimously approved the application. An application for landmarking “The Woods” adjacent to the Wise homestead was reviewed. The Board unanimously approved the application. Members and Trustee Reports • Plaques no new information at this date. • Mike Katyryniuk updated the EHPAB on budget status • May is National Preservation month and also the Town Fair We will continue to consider how we might participate. • History Colorado has put us in contact with help researching the ownership of the stone pillars that marked the “Road of Remembrance”. TOWN OF ERIE Page 1 Printed on 5/23/2017 Historic Preservation Advisory Meeting Minutes - Final March 27, 2017 Board Until the ownership can be determined there can be no Landmarking effort. • Information concerning the need of requesting a COA if modifications are made to the Scofield Farm was sent to the town. • Banner designs have been submitted to the city. Scott Charles will follow up on progress. • Sharepoint education will potentially offered on a future meeting. Old Business • Dave Snow and Mike Katyryniuk have been working on a town reconnaissance. many open properties suggest a need to develop design guidelines if we are to preserve the historic character of Old Town. • Our Master Preservation plan is being published and members are becoming familiar with the document. One of the most important needs we recognize is the need to find a repository for documents. • A focus group document has been produced. The EHPAB suggested some minor modifications before publication. New Business • We are working at scheduling presentation to other Town Boards to improve communication. • History Colorado has encouraged requesting a grant to hire a professional to Prepare National Landmark applications. Earning such a designation will create the potential for additional grants.
