CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING Minutes from Meeting on November 17, 2022 The meeting commenced at 2:00 p.m. Staff members in virtual attendance were Chief Examiner Michael Duerr, Chelan Robbins and Danielle Marks. ROLL CALL OF THE COMMISSION Present via Teams were Commission Chair Ethel McNeal, Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin, Commissioner Scott Bader and Legal Counsel Jordan Stephens. SUBMITTAL AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner Metzger-Levin moved to approve the meeting minutes of October 27, 2022. Commissioner Bader seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT No public in attendance. No public correspondence submitted. REVIEW OF THE PERSONNEL ACTION REPORT Commissioner Bader moved to approve the Personnel Action Report for October 2022. Commissioner Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER APPROVAL OF CALLS FOR APPLICANTS Commissioner Metzger-Levin moved to approve the Chief Examiner Approvals of Calls for Applicants for November 2022. Commissioner Bader seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER CERTIFICATIONS OF ELIGIBLE REGISTERS Commissioner Bader moved to approve the Chief Examiner Certifications of Eligible Registers for November 2022. Commissioner Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS A. Revised Classification Specifications i. Commissioner Metzger-Levin moved to approve the revised classification specification for Transportation Center Security Officer. Commissioner Bader seconded the motion. Staff reported that the revisions were intended to focus on the security duties of the position, but also include a statement to allow Transportation Center Security Officers to perform basic custodial duties in the absence of a custodian to help maintain a clean and safe environment for patrons. Additionally, language speaking to the expectation to render first aid or tend to medical emergencies has been revised to include assessing situations and exercise professional discretion in calling for emergency assistance when needed. The motion was approved unanimously. OTHER BUSINESS A. The Chief Examiner reminded the committee that the December meeting will to be held the 3rd Thursday in December due to the holiday. The December meeting will be held on December 15 at 9:30 a.m. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 2:11 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Danielle Marks
