CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING Minutes from Meeting January 25, 2024 The meeting commenced at 9:43 a.m. Staff members in virtual attendance were Michael Duerr, and Danielle Marks. ROLL CALL OF THE COMMISSION Present via Teams were Commission Chair Ethel McNeal, Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin, and Legal Counsel Christine Svihus. ELECTIONS OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR FOR 2024 A. Election of Commission Chair and Vice Chair for 2024 Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin nominated Commissioner Ethel McNeal for Commission Chair. Commission Chair Ethen McNeal second the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. B. Election of Commission Chair and Vice Chair for 2024 Commissioner Ethel McNeal nominated Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin for Vice Chair. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. SUBMITTAL AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the meeting minutes of the December 21, 2023. Commission Chair Ethel McNeal seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT No public in attendance. No public comment submitted by correspondence. REVIEW OF THE PERSONNEL ACTION REPORT Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the Personnel Action Report for December 2023. Commission Chair Ethel McNeal seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER APPROVAL OF CALLS FOR APPLICANTS Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the Chief Examiner Approvals of Calls for Applicants for January 2024. Commission Chair Ethel McNeal seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER CERTIFICATIONS OF ELIGIBLE REGISTERS Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the Chief Examiner Certifications of Eligible Registers for January 2024. Commission Chair Ethel McNeal seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS REVISED CLASS SPECIFICATIONS A. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the revised class specification for Development Technician. Commission Chair Ethel McNeal seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. B. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the revised class specification for Utilities Electrician Safe Worker Program Administrator. Commission Chair Ethel McNeal seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. OTHER BUSINESS Discuss the selection of new commissioner for Civil Service Commission to replace Commissioner Scott Bader.
