CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING Minutes from Meeting May 23, 2024 The meeting commenced at 9:33 a.m. Staff members in virtual attendance were Michael Duerr, Danielle Marks, Cherie Hough, and Bernice Delgado. ROLL CALL OF THE COMMISSION Present via Teams were Commission Chair Ethel McNeal, Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin, Commissioner Josh Curry, and Legal Counsel Christine Svihus. SUBMITTAL AND APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the meeting minutes of the April 25, 2024. Commissioner Joshua Curry seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT No public in attendance. No public comment submitted by correspondence. REVIEW OF THE PERSONNEL ACTION REPORT Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the Personnel Action Report for April 2024. Commissioner Joshua Curry seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER APPROVAL OF CALLS FOR APPLICANTS Commissioner Joshua Curry moved to approve the Chief Examiner Approvals of Calls for Applicants for May 2024. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. REVIEW OF THE CHIEF EXAMINER CERTIFICATIONS OF ELIGIBLE REGISTERS Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the Chief Examiner Certifications of Eligible Registers for May 2024. Commissioner Joshua Curry seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS A. REVISED CLASS SPECIFICATIONS 1. Commissioner Joshua Curry moved to approve the revised class specification for Firefighter. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. 2. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the revised class specification for Firefighter Paramedic. Commissioner Josh Curry seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. 3. Commissioner Josh Curry moved to approve the revised class specification for Police Officer BLEA Certified. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. 4. Commissioner Josh Curry moved to approve the revised class specification for Police Officer BLEA Recruit. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. 5. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the revised class specification for Police Officer Entry Level. Commissioner Joshua Curry seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. 6. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the revised class specification for Police Officer Lateral. Commissioner Joshua Curry seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. 7. Commissioner Jo Metzger-Levin moved to approve the revised class specification for Public Service Aide/ Animal Shelter. Commissioner Joshua Curry seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. 8. Commissioner Joshua Curry moved to approve the revised class specification for Public Service Aide/ Custodial and Grounds Assistant.
