City of Excelsior Hennepin County, Minnesota Minutes Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Tuesday, November 29, 2022, 6:30 p.m. 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Acting Chair O’Hanlon called the meeting to order at 6:30 Other Commissioners Present: Brattland, Noll, Caron, Bolles Commissioners Absent: none Also Present: Kevin Staunton, Assistant City Manager/City Attorney Nalisha Williams, Administrative Services Director 2. AGENDA APPROVAL Bolles moved to approve as presented, Noll seconded, and all voted to approve the agenda as presented. 3. CONSENT AGENDA 4. CITIZEN REPORTS OR COMMENTS 5. NEW BUSINESS a) Web Site Discussion Staunton and Williams explained the ongoing website updates. The Commission discussed what should be included. b) Public Hearing -- City-Owned Resource Designations Staunton explained the proposal. The public hearing was opened. The Commission discussed the proposal. No public input was received. The hearing was closed. Caron moved to continue until SHPO responds. Brattland seconded, and the motion passed 5-0. 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 7. COMMUNICATIONS and REPORTS a) Next City Council Meeting – December 5, 2022 Staunton informed the Commission on the next Council agenda b) Next HPC Meeting – currently scheduled for Wednesday, December 28, 2022 (discussion re: cancelling or rescheduling) The Commission decided not to hold a December meeting. Brattland moved to cancel the December meeting, Noll seconded, and the motion passed 5-0..  c) Event Subcommittee Update O’Hanlon explained the proposed downtown event. The Commission discussed the item. d) Cemetery National Register Designation Discussion Staunton explained the proposal. The Commission discussed the item. 8. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Staunton gave a brief overview of potential business for the next meeting, including the annual report. 9.
