City of Excelsior Hennepin County, Minnesota Minutes Park and Recreation Commission Tuesday, January 15, 2019 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL at 6:20 p.m. Commissioners present: Chair Wolfe, Mullenbach, Berghorst, Rogney and Wahlstedt. Commissioners Absent: Honzl, Sobiech Also present: Public Works Superintendent Tim Amundsen. 2. AGENDA APPROVAL Mullenbach moved, Wahlstedt seconded, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 5/0. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a) None 4. CITIZEN REPORTS OR COMMENTS a) None 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS a) None 6. NEW BUSINESS a) Gateway Master Plan Bob Slipka, from WSB presented an update from the stake holders’ meetings thus far. Park board would like the flag pole to be salvaged but not the focus of the final design. Removal of the trellis per previous motions by board for removal. Maintain the same or more flower beds. Less maintenance with perennials and natural terracing of plants. Board would also like to advertise the events/happenings in town do to the “drive by” location of plot. Possible ideas are a Sail boat/Sail designs that can be removed and replaced for events during the year.
