City of Excelsior Hennepin County, Minnesota Minutes Park and Recreation Commission Tuesday, March 12, 2019 OATH OF OFFICE: JESSICA GALLOW 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL at 6:20 p.m. Commissioners present: Chair Wolfe, Vice chair Sobiech, Mullenbach, Gallow and Wahlstedt. Commissioners Absent: Berghorst, Rogney Also present: City clerk Ann Orlosky 2. AGENDA APPROVAL Commissioner Sobiech moved, Commissioner Mullenbach seconded, to approve the agenda as presented, Carries 5/0. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a) Commissioner Mullenbach moved, Commissioner Wahlstedt seconded, to approve the minutes of 2/12/19 as presented, Carries 5/0. 4. CITIZEN REPORTS OR COMMENTS None 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS a) GATEWAY MASTER PLAN Further review set for next month. 6. NEW BUSINESS a) None 7. a) ticket booth proposal, Discussed no action taken. c) Eagle scout projects, possible clean up in the spring. 8. a) Ice castle, discussed no action taken. b) Community garden plots. Colleen Lockovitch, a volunteer from Community for the Commons presented a design and plan of action for community involvement for the garden areas around the ballfield. Diversity and sustainability are the focus of the areas. C4C is looking to add adopt a garden to their program along with the bench and tree options. Irrigation will need to be added to the proposed areas. MOTION by Mullenbach to approve the plan as presented, Seconded by Vice chair Sobiech.
