City of Excelsior Hennepin County, Minnesota Minutes Park and Recreation Commission Tuesday, April 9, 2019 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL at 6:20 p.m. Commissioners present: Chair Wolfe, Berghorst, Mullenbach, Gallow, Rogney and Wahlstedt. Commissioners Absent: Vice chair Sobiech Also present: Public works Superintendent Tim Admundson. 2. AGENDA APPROVAL Commissioner Berghorst moved, Commissioner Mullenbach seconded, to approve the agenda as presented, Carries 6/0. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a) None presented 4. CITIZEN REPORTS OR COMMENTS None 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS a) GATEWAY MASTER PLAN Bob Slipka presented the revisions to the three concepts to the board. Feedback was given for further review for all three concepts. b) Spring clean up set for 4/27/19 notification will go out with annual city letter. 6. NEW BUSINESS a) Community for the Commons adoption program approvals MOTION by Berghorst, 2nd by Rogney to approve tree adoption as presented, carries 6/0. Motion by Mullenbaach to approve the picnic table adoption as presented, 2nd by Wahlstedt, carries 6/0. Motion by Berghorst to approve the adopt a garden as presented with temporary signage and volunteer recognition, 2nd by Rogney, carries 6/0 MOTION by Wahlstedt to approve the plaque and stake design as presented, 2nd by Gallow, carries 6/0. b) Pitching practice area Commissioners discussed the proposal by Minnetonka Baseball Association for adding and paying for a practice pitching mound located on the first base line. Commissioners are to set up a time with Tim Admundson Minutes Park and Recreation Commission April 9, 2019 Page 2 of 2 and Tim Jenzer along with available Commissioners for a site visit to layout best possible locations. Keep on un finished business for May. c) Eagle scout projects, possible clean up in the spring. 8. a) Ice castle, discussed no action taken. b) Community garden plots.
