Architectural Advisory Board Location: George Mason High School Library, Falls Church, Virginia December 5, 2018 - 7:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. 1. Roll Call: Mr. Osburn, Mr. Way, and Mr. Wong were present. Mrs. Duggan and Mrs. Friedlander were not present. 2. Petitions: There were no petitions 3. Consent Calendar: There were no consent calendar items 4. Other Business: There was no other business 5. Old Business: There was no old business 6. New Business: a. Recommendations and Feedback requested on the Site Plan Amendment for the renovation of the Oakwood Apartments courtyard and clubhouse located at 501 Roosevelt Boulevard, RPC #53- 218-014 of the Falls Church Real Property Records, zoned C-D, Creative Development. MUNIS#: 2018-1045. Includes presentation from the Applicant. Following input from City staff and discussion with the applicant, the board had the following inputs and recommendations: The Board recommends an alternative to the “feature wall” currently included. The wall would put a permanent barrier between the clubhouse and the pool that is not required and would prohibit any view from the clubhouse and the adjacent patio to the pool deck and beyond. The Board also recommends additional patio space outside of the planned double doors at the new multi-function room to allow an easy transition to the larger outdoor function Harry E. Mr. Osburn mad a motion that the proposal be accepted with the included recommendations. Mr. Wong seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 7. Minutes: a. Minutes from the November 2018 meeting were reviewed. Mr. Wong made a motion to accept them as submitted. Mr. Osburn seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 8.
