Logo The meeting focused on the down-select and refinement of the logo for AHC. Barb Cram reported that work with graphic designer Bryce Rodgers proceeds and that he has made the modifications requested by the AHC from the last meeting. The AHC reviewed each choice and made comments of preferences and adjustments they would like to see. On the flair logo version it was noted that the gray needs to be stronger for “Council of Falls Church”. It also needs to be larger 8 -> 9. The words Humanities looks washed out on gray. Updates Nikki G. Henderson reported for the Tinner Hill Heritage events on Sunday June 12 that parking was an issue. There was supposed to be available parking at Coleman Power Sports and the Tax Analyst. That resulted in a general discussion about the Pearson Square complex not ensuring the agreed upon spaces were available on nights and weekends. Residents are parking in the retail and theater spaces with complaints providing no resolution. Also the parking gate for residents has been broken for some time. Meeting and Event Space The Hampton Inn on Route 50 has opened and has conference space. Also Chesterbrook Residences and Goodwin House has meeting rooms available and permits community groups to use them. 1 There has been an inquiry for contact information for our Youth Representative. That information should be forthcoming soon. The Kensington marketing space in West End shopping center is opening tonight with a Falls Church Arts Plein Air Preview Event prior to the Festival. P The City is pursuing the possibility of buying land on South Oak Street for Park and School Uses. The Transit Center planning is progressing with the writing of the history for the glass panels. The Lincoln at Tinner Hill indicated that Fresh Market has been sold and the new owners are canceling new store deployments. Many of the issues in the development of that building were based on the Fresh Market lease requirements. The Foundation website is being redeveloped and updated to improve the calendar. A store called Rare Bird is coming to the 200 block of West Broad Street Keith Thurston (TLCCF) stated that the grant reimbursement requests are all in and the City will process and send checks within a month. The new year of grants begins with applications due August 15, 2016. The grant application form is available at www.TheLittleCity.org The next meeting will be July 21, 2016. Respectfully Submitted: Keith Thurston 2
