Minutes / Notes
Members Present: Barb Cram, Ellen Gross, Isabella Flora, Sallie Cole, Corey Jannicelli,
Laura Hull, Marybeth Connelly, Letty Hardi
Also Present: Debbie Hiscott, Falls Church Education Foundation
The meeting was called to order by Chair Barb Cram at 9:40 am.
No meeting minutes were available to share from the previous month’s meeting
Falls Church Education Foundation:
Debbie Hiscott offered an overview of the Education Foundation and its role in the community.
She also answered questions around the upcoming Garden Tour and Derby Days.
Action Plan Review:
Logo
Question was raised around when the CATCH Foundation Logo verse the Arts and
Humanities Logo should be used
o CATCH Foundation logo should be on promotional material surrounding grant
funding
o Arts & Humanities Logo on website and general publications
Barb will resend logos to everyone and asks that the file is saved for future use
Fundraising
Laura Hull shared her opinion that space is the #1 issue in Falls Church for Arts Org.
but PR/branding to get the word out was also a big need
Group expressed a need for a brainstorming time to decide what we would apply to
use the money for.
Recommendation to shorten the next A&H Council meeting and use the second ½
hour to focus on brainstorming grant funding needs
Marketing
Marybeth expressed a need for group marketing, perhaps on a monthly basis
Would like to see someone in a role like Ingrid’s to take on this responsibility
Visioning 2040:
Barb Cram expressed concern around the limited amount of language in the final
document surrounding the arts and humanities.
Deadline for comments is the end of the week
Arts and Humanities Website:
Corey asked for an update on thelittlecity.org website which has been down for several
weeks.
Barb wrote a quick email to Nick Gatz to address the issue.

Public Art:
Barb is working on a formal Public Art Policy
Letty expressed an interest in seeing more public art in the community, specifically
the type of chalk art done for the Watch Night logo.
Barb shared that chalk art takes a lot of time and chalk
Letty asked if there were artist in the community who could do more chalk art murals
Announcements
Marybeth announced the upcoming Women’s History March and help promoting the
event on facebook and brainstorming past women leaders in the community.
