Minutes
Members Present: Corey Jannicelli, Barb Cram, Sally Cole, Laura Hull, Edwin Henderson,
Marybeth Connelly, Letty Hardi, Rosemary Ziskind, Ron Anzalone, Stephanie Oppenheimer
Guests: Keith Thurston (CATCH Foundation), John Daniels (Office of Congressman Beyer)
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Barb Cram at 9:35 am.
Minutes:
Meeting minutes from November were approved
TLCCF Report:
o None
Development Update:
Founders Row moving forward
West End hosted Town Hall on Dec 16 –check out video of meeting at

Old Business:
Heritage Days
o Corey will send out doodle to schedule second meeting in January
Public Art Policy
o Corey will send out doodle to schedule second meeting in January
Watch Night

Signal Boxes
o Barb Cram presented the concept and sample by Richard McMurray to be
installed at Broad St & Virginia Ave
o Artist will submit a design that will need to be converted by a graphic artist
o Brian Lee from CSI will see the process through
o Recommendation made to have artists name and A& H Council Logo on box
o Artist selected for project will receive a $500 stipend

o Vote was approved to move forward with sample box design
New Business:
Downtown Park
o Renovation is underway, walkway will be completed by Watch Night
o Concerns raised about process, not enough opportunity for feedback
Specific concern about contract signed with Merrifield Garden Center
o EDA has had several work sessions and City Council has reviewed plans in
work session
o Surrounding business owners are ok with new design
o EDA is willing to help fund a mural & work with Rec & Park on
programming
Roundtable:
MLK Day March on Jan 21 at 1:00 pm hosted by the THHF and Social Justice
Committee of Falls Church
o Frustration expressed over lack of funding to Arts and Rec &Park to host event
and the inability to close down Lee Highway for the March.

George Mason Choir, Orchestra, and Jazz Band have been playing around the city this
holiday season. Contact the following if you can use these groups at an upcoming
program.

Middle School Promenade and Etiquette classes sold out!
Creative Cauldron is hosting Madeline’s Christmas followed by Passport to the World
of Music series.
FOCH hosted a successful Children’s Holiday Shoppe and 2 Holiday Teas
