MINUTES OF COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS COMMITTEE MEETING PURPOSE OF MEETING: To interview prospective candidates for appointment to boards and commissions, to discuss applicants and/or reappointments, and to conduct exit interviews with previous board and commission members. DATE OF MEETING: March 9, 2022 LOCATION: Laurel Room, City Hall, 300 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA. The commission shall be composed of five members appointed by the city council. The terms of office of the members of the commission shall be four years, with the exception of the first slate of appointees in which two appointees shall have two-year terms and three appointees shall have four-year terms. *Arts and Humanities Council – 2 applicants for one available term. **Public Utilities Commission – currently 6 applicants for 5 terms. ROLL CALL VOTE: Council Member Connelly: ✓ Council Member Lian: ✓ Council Member Hardi: ✓ COMING OUT TIME: 8:59 p.m. CERTIFICATION Upon motion made by Committee Member Hardi, and seconded by Committee Member Connelly, and passed upon affirmative roll call vote in open session, it was certified that (i) only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements and (ii) only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the closed meeting was convened were heard, discussed or considered in the closed session or meeting by the Appointments Committee.
