MEMBER REPORTS –
Property tax relief was passed.
Oakwood apartments have renovated and changed their name to Falls Green. They have
lost the State Department contract. Their goal is to eliminate furnished apartments.
The comprehensive plan housing chapter has been adopted. The suggestion by HSAC to
change the name of neighborhood preservation to historic has happened.
The group would like a second presentation on the environmental chapter draft.
OLD BUSINESS:
Planning for Annual Report
The group would have liked Sue to email her statistics before she left. They would like
outcomes from the CSF report regarding recipients in 15 categories.
NEW BUSINESS:
Outreach Regarding Mass Shooter
There will be active shooter training for Council now that they are in new chambers.
There has also been a “First 12 Minutes” training for the community. This might be good
for the commissioners. Should there be outreach on this? Some communities have
children wear bullet proof backpacks.
Mental Health Community Information
Insurance deductibles are too high. There should be information given to the community
on mental health. People are fearful of other people that are mentally ill. Stigma had been
reduced and is now coming back.
Encouraging all residents to Access services -
Staff should look at partnering with CASA. Send information out to schools. Perhaps there
could be an application to a broader grant. Police are not singling people out. Residents
should know this.
ADJOURN
The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
