MINUTES Human Services Advisory Council City of Falls Church PURPOSE OF MEETING: To advise City Council on human services delivery to Falls Church citizens. DATE OF MEETING: January 16, 2020 PLACE OF MEETING: Laurel Room, City Hall MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY Nicole Newman: at 6:30 p.m. THOSE PRESENT: HSAC Members: Staff: Craig Cheney Nancy Vincent Alisa Macht Ripal Patel Nicole Newman (chair) City Council Liaison Anne Norloff Marybeth Connelly Debra Z. Roth Student Representative Tahaseen Shaik Miles Heffernan APPROVAL OF MINUTES – The minutes from December 12, 2019 were approved. MEMBER REPORTS: None NEW BUSINESS:  Community Services Fund – Applicants from Northern Virginia Dental Clinic, CRi, Inc. and Heeling House made presentations. HSAC members will make their funding recommendations at the February HSAC meeting. OLD BUSINESS:  Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center – The consultant hired to study the viability of the Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center will present the draft report to the Arlington, Alexandria, and Falls Church CEOs in early February. Following that meeting, they will schedule a joint meeting of the City Councils and County Board to present their findings. Members agreed to reschedule next month’s meeting to February 13, 2020.
