Minutes Tuesday, December 17, 2013 4:00pm at the Farmington Public Library Staff Conference Room FARMINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD Members Present: Paula Nickerson, Judy Castleberry, Dale Anderson, Mary Keller, MaryAnn Thompson, Dan Sheesley Members Absent: Richard Gerding, John Yokie, Dr. Carletta Thompson Staff Present: Karen McPheeters, Barbara Dussaman I. Call to Order- 4:05 Judy Castleberry, Chair II. Amendments to and/or approval of the minutes of the previous regular meeting a. Motion to approve Minutes by Judy Castleberry, Second Paula Nickerson b. Minutes approved unanimously by Board Members present III. Amendments to and/or approval of the minutes of the joint special meeting a. Motion to approve Minutes by Mary Keller, Second by MaryAnn Thompson b. Minutes approved unanimously by Board Members present IV. Old Business a. Review of statistics- Karen reviewed the stats from November 2013. 1. Karen discussed new graphics to be used to present statistics. 11. Karen went over the stats from November and reported that Patron numbers and computer users are down, but the Programs are going strong. 111. 2013 is the first year that the Library is tracking the Wi-Fi usage. 1v. The stats for the Shiprock Branch are good for the amount of Patrons that utilize that branch. v. Computer users at the Shiprock Branch still strong. b. Vote on revised Acceptable Behavior Policy 1. Motion to approve Policies made by Dale Anderson, Second by Mary Keller 11. Minutes approved unanimously by Board Members present 111. Karen has removed the Proctoring Policy from the Advisory Board Review Schedule. V. New Business a. Director's Report - 1. Winter Solstice, December 21, 2013 11. Bert Levine will be receiving special recognition for his support of the Library during the Solstice Celebration. b. Other business for discussion 1. Karen informed the Board that staffing is down. 11. Budget planning has been put on hold until after the Holidays. 111. Elections in March, possible new Council Members elected. 1v.
